Tasks

• Research assistant in the field of insect virology in cooperation with the Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology.
  The German-Japanese research project is concerned with insect resistance to baculoviruses. In particular, the molecular causes of resistance are being investigated.
• Identification of resistance genes: Genome-wide association study of Cydia pomonella against the Cydia pomonella granulovirus (CpGV) in Germany and of Adoxophyes honmai against the Adoxophyes honmai nucleopolyhedrovirus (AdhoNPV) in Japan.
• Investigation of virus-receptor interactions: Analysis of interactions between specific receptors in the insect midgut and baculoviruses.
•  Development of molecular biological markers for the identification of resistant insects
