Rodenticide resistance in rodents is becoming increasingly important. As part of the work, the occurrence is recorded and suitable resistance management is developed. If pesticides are used frequently, resistant organisms can be selected. The high quality requirements in food production require frequent use of control agents, so the risk of resistance development is relatively high, especially if the agents are insufficiently effective or poorly accepted. When combating commensal rodents (rats, house mice), anticoagulants essentially only have one group of active ingredients available for control, so that if resistance occurs, another group of active ingredients cannot be switched to. It is therefore particularly important in the rodenticide sector to develop procedures and strategies to avoid resistance, detect resistance and deal with resistant populations.
