Institut für Resistenzforschung und Stresstoleranz
Due to climate change, such as global warming, wheat plants are increasingly suffering from heat damage, which requires the development of appropriate technologies. High temperatures during the grain filling phase affect the size of the seeds and the storage proteins in the grains, leading to yield losses and reduced quality and processability. In order to ensure stable production of domestic wheat, it is necessary to investigate the changes in growth in response to temperature fluctuations and identify the causes. There is a considerable need in both South Korea and Germany to further develop research methods and technologies for heat and drought stress tolerance. To this end, an exchange with reciprocal experiments is to take place between the two institutions in order to collect, analyze and exchange findings between the two countries.
