Overall objective of the project

The ORDIAmur consortium investigates causes, indicators, and management options for the apple replant disease within the frame of the BonaRes initiative (Soil as a sustainable resource for the bioeconomy). The contribution of bacteria, fungi and nematodes to the induction of the apple replant disease is investigated by greenhouse and field experiments. Indicators of apple replant disease among soil microbes, endophytes and nematode-fungi complexes as well as among expressed genes of apple plants growing in replanted soil are developed. Management options as Tagetes cultivation and soil inoculation of microbes are tested in field experiments in cooperation with lead farms.
