Overall objective of the project

The project aims to investigate the influences of plant-based alternative protein sources on the climate. In the sub-project of the Institute JKI-SB, new molecular biological techniques are actively used to examine and evaluate gene functions in the native crops in question. In addition to oats, sweet lupins are available as candidates. In the other sub-projects, in addition to classic breeding, economic and socio-ecological assessments and analyzes of milk and meat substitutes are also carried out.
