Fellow in the project “NemResCar” - Transfer of resistance genes against the root-knot nematode Meloidogyne hapla and the cyst nematode Heterodera carotae from carrot wild relatives to the cultivated carrot for organic farming use.

• optimisation and implementation of resistance tests in segregating backcross populations
• genotyping of backcross progenies by GBS and analysis of the sequence data
• molecular mapping for localisation of resistance associated gene loci and development of diagnostic KASP markers
• validation of the developed markers in independent progenies
• performance of histological work to detect the resistance mechanisms
