Tasks
- Developing strategies for climate adaptation of cereals
- Examinations on yield and quality formation under drought stress in wheat and rye
- Evaluation of baking wheat quality under varied nitrogen supply
- Coordination and implementation of field, rain-out shelter and greenhouse trials as well as downstream laboratory analysis and statistical evaluation
- Interacting with stakeholders and transfer of results into practice
Research projects:
- Optimization of the potential of semi-dwarfs in rye for increasing the climate protection performance of cereal crop rotations (PRoKlima)
- Genome-based strategies to use the tertiary gene-pool for breeding of climate-smart wheat (TERTIUS)
- Increasing nitrogen fertilization efficiency and reduction of nitrogen surpluses in the production of baking wheat by using new specific crop variety traits (N-DECREASE)
