Scientific execution of third-party-project MonSta: Monitoring of pesticide contamination and the diversity of benthic invertebrate organisms in small water bodies on agricultural land with a focus on the federal state of Saxony

• Application of JKI’s ecological status assessment and biodiversity monitoring concept in small standing water bodies of the agricultural landscape
• Evaluation of the impact that use of plant protection products and supplemental nutrients in adjacent fields have upon the benthic invertebrate communities in ponds
• Determination of vegetation composition in the riparian zones and analysis of their protective influence against runoff and drift from neighboring fields via remote sensing techniques
