Tasks

• Development of national contingency plans for priority pests in cooperation with the competent federal and state authorities and other relevant institutions. Regular review and updating of the contingency plans
• Advise the plant protection services of the Länder on the implementation of measures against introduced Union quarantine pests and/or new pests
• Development of phytosanitary control measures against introduced pests also within the framework of research projects
• Project coordination of the BLE project "WATARA-MODE" (funding code 28-1-87.16X-19) for the preparation of alert lists of potential quarantine pests of bamboo as wood packaging substitute and from the jewel beetle genus Agrilus and the preparation of a model for the determination of damage thresholds of new pests for the scientific assessment of the adequacy of measures
